The Hinabi Project VisionThe Hinabi Project (THP) is a trans-Pacific organization dedicated to the promotion, preservation, and practice of the Philippine weaving arts in natural fiber. In the Philippine Diaspora, THP offers rare opportunities for the younger generation to connect with their indigenous heritage. Natural fiber weaving is an indigenous cultural tradition that embodies community and ancestry. These values invoke balance and harmony between individuals and families, hence, also solidifying communities.

The Hinabi Project
In partnership with US and Philippine organizations, THP has set several goals: the creation of a textile collection, documentation of the fabric production, and public presentations through exhibitions, lectures, and workshops on Philippine textiles. We work with NGO partners to develop sustainable economic programs that support artisan families. We also work with artists and master weavers to incorporate aspects of Filipino traditional fabrics into modern design informed with cultural sensitivity.
